WildPosh research on pesticide toxicity in hoverflies presented at the Fourth Congress of Serbian Biologists

Researchers from the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Sciences presented WildPosh results at the Fourth Congress of Serbian Biologists, held in Divčibare, Serbia, from 16 to 20 September 2026.

Their scientific poster covered the acute toxicity of two pesticides, the insecticide acetamiprid and the fungicide tebuconazole, in the hoverfly Eristalis arbustorum. The poster presented the team’s key findings and experimental approach.

The congress brought together a broad biological audience, which was a good chance to raise awareness of the risks pesticides pose to non-bee pollinators beyond specialist circles. One challenge was making specialised ecotoxicological findings accessible to researchers from many different fields. The exchange will help support future research in this area.
