WildPosh and PollinERA strengthen collaboration to protect pollinators across Europe
WildPosh and PollinERA, two Horizon Europe-funded research projects, have announced a formal collaboration to amplify the impact of their work on pollinator protection and pesticide risk assessment. As sister projects with complementary goals, both aim to address the growing threats pollinators face from chemical exposure, such as pesticides.
PollinERA is developing a comprehensive "One System" framework for environmental risk assessment, expanding existing tools beyond bees to include butterflies, moths, and hoverflies. WildPosh brings regional insight through fieldwork across four European climates and combines experimental and in silico data to evaluate pesticide exposure in wild pollinators.
The collaboration includes joint communication efforts, coordinated participation in events, and an aligned data management strategy. These shared activities aim to strengthen scientific outputs, improve policy relevance, and ensure long-term impact.
Both projects began in January 2024, with kick-off meetings in Aarhus and Mons. Read their collaborative press release here.
